What was the Shading Challenge?

Earlier this year we had the exciting opportunity to work alongside Splintr, the award winning commercial interior designers Edinburgh, at the new Port of Leith Distillery. The new 9 floor vertical distillery is the first of its kind in Scotland which will attract tens of thousands of visitors and whiskey enthusiasts per year.

What was our Shading Solution?

This fit out included working in partnership with Silent Gliss to supply and install 4880 electric roller blinds to the 5 & 9th Floors. With our effective communication all blinds were successfully manufactured and installed swiftly on time with the schedule of the programme.

How was it Delivered?

With careful coordination, bringing all materials to site by our own vehicles, the fit out was successfully installed and completed. Our biggest challenge was fitting the blinds at the required height, as it required the use of scaffolding. This made transporting the equipment up the building's vertical structure particularly difficult. However, thanks to excellent teamwork and the support of all staff members, we were able to successfully install each blind.
