What was the Shading Challenge?
We had the opportunity to work alongside Robertson Construction, the main construction partner at the new student accommodation development at Jocelyn Square, Glasgow. This new “Clyde Court” development from Urbanite Living is over 6 floors, based in the Merchant City area will accommodates 169 bedrooms and provides spacious and modern living with studio-style apartments.
What was our Shading Solution?
Our fit-out work for this prestigious project involved supplying and installing 249 nr. Goldcrest manufactured Louvolite roller blinds into Clyde Court’s studio bedrooms and across its common use areas. With our effective communication throughout with Robertson, all blinds were successfully manufactured and installed to allow our client to successfully handover the building ready to take in students in January 2025.
How was it delivered?
Our client chose to proceed with our own Roller Blinds giving us full control over production quality. Being in a very busy part of Glasgow’s city centre, the logistics of the installation were a challenge. However, with careful coordination, bringing all materials to site by our own vehicles, the fit out was successfully installed and completed with little disruption.
Client Feedback
With fantastic two-way communication and following our successful installation, we have been delighted to have had the opportunity to work alongside Robertson Construction on more projects and continue to make our relationship stronger.
In a recent article on Scottish Housing News, Adam Sadler, project director at Urbanite Living, said: “We are delighted to handover this significant new Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) scheme to the students of Glasgow. Clyde Court represents the regeneration of a key city centre site to deliver much needed new accommodation in a top UK university destination where there is currently a major undersupply.”
Similarly happy with the development are the accommodation’s operators, Home For Students. Their chief operating officer, Scott Lewis, had this to add, “Having the best accommodation is key to any university experience. Thanks to the fantastic amenities available onsite coupled with first-class customer service delivered by our teams, we are confident that those living at Clyde Court will be on the right path for future success.”
